Milena Govich

Milena Govich, a writer and actor, has directed numerous episodes of TV such as Chicago Med (2015), The Equalizer (2021), FBI The Most Wanted(2020), Chicago Fire (2012) as well as other. Also, she was co-producer and Co-EP on Dick Wolf's CBS series FBI (2018). She is currently a part of two pilots that are in progress. Milena was chosen as one of eight directors for AFI's prestigious Directing Workshop for Women. Unspeakable, her short film as well as a television series proof of concept was premiered at SXSW. It also won Best Episodic Award at the Seattle International Film Festival, and Best Pilot at the SoHo International Film Festival. Her short film Temporary (2017 produced by Milena Vandervoort) was screened across the nation. It won the award for Best Narrative Short at Anthem Film Festival and Best Dark Comedy at Atlanta ShortsFest. The Director's Choice Award was also given at Sedona International Film Festival. Milena has acted in over 100 television episodes acting as an actress. She first gained national attention in CBS's Love Monkey (2006), then as the prostitute/con-artist Candy on three seasons of Rescue Me (2004) (Denis Leary/FX). Conviction (2006) was the Dick Wolf series, was her second major role. It culminated in her being the Emmy-winning woman detective on Law & Order (1990). She has also been featured in a number of other shows: K-Ville (2007) (Fox); The Defenders (2010) (CBS); Make It or Break It (2009) (ABC Family) as well as on the show Finding Carter as Lori Stevens on the MTV drama Finding Carter (2014). Milena has also been featured in numerous films, including Sordid Things (2008); A Novel Romance (2011), opposite Steve Guttenberg; Pass the Light (2015) and #Lucky Number (2015). She also appeared in a movie with Method Man. A native of Norman, Oklahoma, Milena was valedictorian of high school before completing an undergraduate degree in both vocal performance and premed, with minors in violin and dance at the University of Central Oklahoma, and also being valedictorian of her graduation. In the following years, Milena utilised her classical ballet skills to take part in a show on Broadway in the Sam Mendes/Rob Marshall production "Cabaret" at Studio 54.
