Emily Swallow

American actor Emily Swallow was born December 18th, 1979. Her most well-known roles include her roles in The Mentalist's Kim Fischer and Supernatural's 11th season as Amara / The Darkness. She also appears as The Armorer in the live-action Star Wars series The Mandalorian and played a small role as Emily in the video game The Last of Us Part II. Swallow was born on 18 December 1979 in Washington, D.C. Her family lived in Sterling, Virginia, as well as Jacksonville, Florida. Swallow began acting while at Stanton College Preparatory School. She also participated in professional and amateur theatre productions. Swallow graduated from the Stanton College Preparatory School located in Jacksonville in 2001. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Middle Eastern Studies. She was then able to go on to study for an MFA in Acting at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts. In 2008 she made her movie debut with The Lucky Ones, a military-themed drama. She was a part of two world premieres: Donald Margulies' play The Country House, Los Angeles' Geffen Playhouse; and Mark Rylance's The play Nice Fish, at the Guthrie Theatre. The actress won the Falstaff Award for best Female Performer in 2010 for her portrayal of Kate in the film The Taming Of the Shrew.In 2012, Swallow and fellow singer/comedian Jac Huberman devised a stage show called Jac N Swallow and performed it in New York at the Laurie Beeckman Theater and Joe's Pub. The show revolves around the humorous adventures of the two as they navigate very different life challenges with varying degrees of sanity, and decency.
